The Idea Behind Sheltrd

The idea for Sheltrd started more than 20 years ago with a problem my dad and uncle ran into all the time.

They used their trucks for everything—home projects, fishing trips, hauling gear, and everyday life. Like a lot of truck owners, they were constantly choosing between improvised covers, exposed cargo, and permanent bed covers that didn’t always fit the way they used their trucks.

They wanted something simpler: dependable coverage when they needed it, without giving up full access to the bed.

That gap became the idea.

So we built one—and it worked.
